I am doing my essay on cyberfiminism.

Although we as females have come so far in the world of male versus female, some people have taken it too far. Women have came to the conclusion them being the only capable people to do anything. As, the search goes there are islands and stores, and much more that are restricted to only females. How is this fair as how do men take into this action?

intro paragraph

Using Second Life for educational and research purposes is the new and upcoming item. Educators around the world have now began teaching in virtual classrooms as a way of reaching out to students, and getting them more involved in their classroom. From a students perspective, they enjoy learning new ways of technology and working in an enviroment that acts as a "game." Over a hundred and twenty five colleges around the world have began to offer the new virtual classrooms as a way for students to be more interactive and more involved. Diana a MSU professor quotes "The discussions within this virtual world seem to induce confidence in students who otherwise sit silently through class. The fact we are not who we are, to put it flatly, also opens up a new way of communication. While our views and discussions still represent the real person behind the avator." With that comment made students are more able to break out of their shell and become involoved. Second Life virtual classroom is the new way of class for many colleges around the world. Students become more interactive with eachother in Second Life along with their research as more of a real world atmosphere

Exploration assignment

I have visited the Charkyn Forest which was a very interesting and unique place. Sometimes I am not sure what is really all out there. I can sit on the computer for hours and just look around to all the different doors and the different hallways there are to visit and there is something new that I have missed. I talked with a Kasey about the scary options in cyber world and where all we have visited. It was interesting because I have no idea anything about this person and they can be ten million miles away and I not even know it. So, this program lets us get passed the appearance of people and just get to know everyone for their interests.

I also visited a place where there were a bunch of different shops with animal canvases. As you looked around and explored it was just American Indian tribal looking shops’? So, there was interesting shopping that I had to do. Although I did not buy anything there was plenty of looking that I could do.

I visited Themiskyra, it was scary. I talked to a Rodman about what the object of Second Life was and he was very insightful. He spoke of all the bookstores and learning environments there are along with getting to know different people. Rodman also suggested that is cheaper going shopping in Second Life that to go out to the mall!! I got a kick out of that comment. I do not quite understand the whole Sims and second life, but I am catching on quick and am eager to learn.

Appearance paper

As an avatar in Second Life I have changed my personal appearance several times. At first when you log in, your avatar is a certain “all American” figured girl. I had to change that to resemble some features of my appearance in real life. At the same time I wanted to experiment and use some features that I have just pictured, and that I just want for myself. So, I think that in Second Life you can kind of play around with your look and change your outfit on a daily basis if you are feeling different that day.

I have looked into some of the shops on the Second Life web site and I went in to the hair shop. That is where I tried on several different types of hair styles and colors. I did not purchase any of them but, it was fun to just play around with them. It would be a great tool, for if you wanted to go for a different look, you could just find it in a shop and try it on.
I also, looked at different outfits, but, a lot of them were lingerie. Which of course I would not wear lingerie in Second Life or in real life. That just ruled that shop out completely but, it was fun to try things on and to see how to make you look different.

I do want to go into Second Life and shop around for a new outfit. I am not sure about the blue polka dotted top I am wearing with white tights. That is just not me. I like to try new things and to make me appearance and my outfit change every time I log on. I think that would be fun. It would be like real life where you change outfits everyday and you experiment with your look.
